The Qualifications Disparity (Lite Version)

Qualifications and Work (Real World) I hesitated to publish this monologue since it may appear anti-education. However, I would say it is more purpose-based education rather than "education because I don't know what to do with my life". In the absence of a grooming culture in the workplace, going to school for the sake of climbing the ladder may be detrimental if one is not promoted or is inexperienced; of course, the rules are not written in stone but bendable. This is not an argument against education. I will never (Lol, never say never) argue against education, especially learning. I'm a proponent of learning; even if you are not at school, at least be a rigorous learner. Formal Schooling is only for providing a structured learning approach and a certificate at the end of the program. While on this, undergraduate degrees are very important as a kickstarter. The disparity of qualification in the work environment is about how those who may be less qualified than you ...

Limited By Our Mental Models

Limited by Individual's Library of Mental Models I wrote this one frustrated sitting on the boarding gate benches after a flight delay. It might be all over the place. In this one, I used the word model to refer to frameworks, models, and concepts. We all have orientation based on models that are stored in our brains. Have you heard people talk about finding your true north? Yes, based on the models in our minds, we are likely to think that we have found our true north when we do what society expects. However, true north or orientation is something one creates for himself, one of those untypical routes.  Mental models have a lot to do with exposure, that is, things you have come across presented to you or experienced in your life. Mental models are like the flat earth and spherical earth models. Today we still have people who call themselves flat-earthers, meaning they are operating using a model from the BCs. Our brains have many models: primal, ancient, medieval, and new (civilis...

Our Robotic Education

It's Not Suitable For Thinking Humans Our education system is so funny that people who got A+ and some 100% for grade 12 Mathematics did so without knowing the meaning of Algebra or other concepts. I'm afraid that if you were to ask the top Math student from the class of 2021, he/she may not know the answer or at least explain what is Algebra in layman's terms. Laymen, in this case, are just like the "intelligent men". So is practising Maths the best method to learn it? Robotic education! I think that's how we are being educated. That is, fill in the damn checklist with what I told you. I define robotic education as a method of teaching individuals that fosters process conformity, repetitive work, and reduced thinking due to a lack of incentives. This education style has a lot of Taylorism in it. It was meant for people to get the work/job done, not to think, innovate, discover, or invent. Just like machines/robots are programmed, maybe that's why the qual...
