Never Stop Learning

Keep Your Genius on the Move This monologue was part of the previous one and takes my view on learning to the next level. Before I can say anything on this post, the knowledge of self is the most important knowledge you can ever possess. Allocate time to learn about yourself, in other words, the history of who you are and where you come from. Be inspired by the lives of the former and carry the torch forward with pride. Remember, a man can never get himself together until he knows who he is. One thing about being a curious person is that one often asks simple questions, which may appear stupid, but do stupid questions exist? One does not simply ignore what one does not know and takes the opportunity to ask right there. I often find myself asking people things that they think I ought to know, that is, even though in those cases, I genuinely do not know what is expected of me. Just wondering in the maze, life is interesting. The best way to learn in my view, is the hard way, that is, th...

Cynical: With A Pinch of Salt

Don't Trust Anyone Who Says "Trust Me!" I feel guilty that I have not been writing new posts. It is a sign that I have not been learning much on the social aspect. I have been writing other things, which I will hopefully share in a few months. I have learnt a lot of stuff.  Let me start by putting it all out there! Everything is basically a lie. Yes, the statement is wide and overreaching, and maybe a bit nayv. But hear me out. The media (News agencies/houses) will at best tell you half-truths, and the government strategically comminucates so to attain a soft landing. Others call it propoaganda. To get the truth and know what's behind the vail/curtain (Holy of holies, eish sorry), you have to intentionally dig deeper. People are usually self-serving and will only tell you what they want you to hear, in other words, what's in their best interest. Easy access to information sources has made digging easier and difficult at the same time is information overload and me...

Wakanda Forever - Africans Dreaming (ZZzzz)

Wakanda Forever - Nothing to Go Back to. Let's take a moment and reflect, Wakanda is real and it's forever. First and foremost, the death of Okonkwo will forever haunt Africans. The illiterate will be haunted even if they don't know about his tragic death.  Why are some of our African kings coronated by the representatives of the colonial masters? Okay,  African kings were abducted and shipped to Europe to be humiliated, and others simply vanished. Assassinations continued to the modern world, for instance, the assissination of 20th-Century African leaders such as Malcohm X, Thomas Sankara,  , Patrice Lumumba,  Steve Biko, Dr Martin Luther King, and the list goes on. These were great leaders that I don't think we will ever have anytime soon. They were a great hope of Great Africa. These deaths have changed the course of an African's life anywhere in the world. Ethiopians fought and won the Battle of Adwa. At that time the spirit of Mother Africa arose. Will we ever ...

The Qualifications Disparity (Lite Version)

Qualifications and Work (Real World) I hesitated to publish this monologue since it may appear anti-education. However, I would say it is more purpose-based education rather than "education because I don't know what to do with my life". In the absence of a grooming culture in the workplace, going to school for the sake of climbing the ladder may be detrimental if one is not promoted or is inexperienced; of course, the rules are not written in stone but bendable. This is not an argument against education. I will never (Lol, never say never) argue against education, especially learning. I'm a proponent of learning; even if you are not at school, at least be a rigorous learner. Formal Schooling is only for providing a structured learning approach and a certificate at the end of the program. While on this, undergraduate degrees are very important as a kickstarter. The disparity of qualification in the work environment is about how those who may be less qualified than you ...

Everything Has A Cost

It All Comes at a Cost It all comes at a cost. You have to give up something to get something. This notion of giving up something is well summarised by Dr T. Sowell when he wrote, "Life does not give us choices; it gives us options that we must trade-off." We can't have it all. The question is, are you willing to pay the price for your chosen option(s). This incites me to write a quote I heard from guys who heard it from other guys; it's true, though, it goes, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes". Unfortunately, the stupid prizes come at a huge cost (effort, time, and probably cash). Maybe I got old too young, but it is like the opium of the youth, "TikTok", are the dopamine spikes of good feelings worth the time we expended on the app? It is a new year, 2023AD. We all have goals we want to achieve in the next 12 months. Even if they are unscripted, we have them at the back of our minds. Some plans are scripted and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Ac...
